Last night while I was at work (I work at a beer/wine shop where people frequently come in and hang out for hours)a new customer came in. She stirred up quite a buzz with our regulars because she started reading people and sharing some interesting spiritual/metaphysical opinions and experiences. Nothing that would raise an eyebrow with the folks here, but I'm from a small, conservative city, so you can imagine how intrigued our guests were.I found myself very excited that she had come in and was really enjoying her discussions. She radiated a certain warmth toward everyone in the store, except I noticed that after our first introduction she made little eye contact with me. As the first hour passed, I felt more and more tension from her and finally she looked at me with the blackest eyes and most penetrating stare. She was in the midst of giving some personal readings and she stopped to say to me in a very cold voice, "You are a control freak. Stop it. Stop it right now. You are manipulating the conversation and trying to be in control. Knock it off."
I have no idea what she was talking about. I had contributed very little to any of the conversations, as I was working, and any interaction I tried to initiate was pleasant, because, like I said, I was really excited she had come! Anyway, a bit later she gave me the same stare and said to me that I was a warrior and whenever she met "my people" she ended up with a broken heart.
(I should add right here that this is about 1 1/2 hours into the encounter and she was still drinking her first beer. I don't believe she was intoxicated.)
She said more about being me being fiery and powerful and strong and controlling, and while these things can be true, it's not normally the impression that I give, nor is it a state in which I typically find myself.
She said all of this in a cold, somewhat accusatory way and the few customers who were within earshot were just silent and watching. The tension was truly palpable.
So I walked away for a bit and when I returned she told me that her daughter (who had accompanied her) felt that she had been offensive and she wanted to apologize. I told her that I wanted to speak in private and when we were alone I told her how I had actually been very glad to meet her and was caught off guard by the negativity I had been feeling from her. She said that we knew each other from past lives (she did not feel "familiar" to me, although her "type" did, whatever the h*ll that means!)
She touched my hand and things seemed to be fine. But then I noticed that whenever I left the room,I felt a definite choking/stifling feeling in my throat and chest. It took me a few times to realize that this happened only when I would leave the room she occupied.
Anyway, things were otherwise uneventful until we closed. She and her daughter were the last to go and by this time she did seem a little intoxicated-- (she had purchased and quickly drank a pint before we closed.) She went on and on about me being a warrior and about being afraid of my power and just kept looking at me with those eyes. I honestly thought for a moment she might strike me, but she didn't.
She finally left, and because she had spent four hours in my store I was pretty restless when I got home. I understand that a psychic attack will leave you feeling drained, but what I felt was pretty much the opposite and not in a positive way.
Overall she didn't strike me as a dark or malicious person, but maybe as someone who has an intuitive gift and is somewhat high on the power that comes with it. I don't know, that's just a guess. I'm not sure why she singled me out, why she directed so much energy toward me, or what the choking thing was all about. I would have written her off as a quack, but she truly did know a lot of things about my regular customers that she could not have known. She definitely had an ability, but I'm stumped as to what the heck happened to me last night!
Ideas??
